Mailbag 10 December 2021
What an absolute delight it was to watch our Reception children this week, live on stage in their Christmas Nativity. I was reminded of this wonderful monologue by Joyce Grefell, who summarized the experience far more eloquently than I ever could!
(You can find her script here).
News for everyone

My Great Hillcrest Spelling Saga - Children have spent the term learning the spellings across their level and, with the end of term upon us, it's time to find out if they’re ready to move on to the next level. Next week, they will complete their End of Level Quiz where they'll be tested on 24 spellings from across all the sections of their level to see if they're ready to move on.
And, of course, those children currently on Level 6, 12, 18, 24 or 30 will be taking on their BOSS [cue dramatic music]. Are they ready to pounce on Pincers? Have they got what it takes to squash Squidkid? Next week, either Mr Mac or Mr Wilson will catch the children on these levels to complete their Boss Quizzes to see if they are ready for the next zone.

Wells Road crossing update - The time for public questions at Tuesday’s council meeting ran out before Anna Boulter had a chance to pose her question to Marvin in person. Questions are submitted in writing beforehand, though, so we await a written response.
