Have a great half term break and enjoy the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Monday 6th June will be an Inset Day, when school is closed for staff training. The children are back in school on Tuesday 7th June.
News for Everyone
Jubilee Celebration - Huge thanks to Mrs Howells, Mr Boyle and Mrs Sharples for the work and planning behind the scenes that made Wednesday such an extravaganza! And thanks to everyone who sent in party food for the Jubilee tea and to all the people who turned out to line the procession route afternoon! There are lots of photos of the day and videos of all our Variety Show performances in the Gallery on the website.
Jubilee book - All the children from Yrs 1 to 6 have been given a Jubilee Book, from the Department of Education, to bring home with them today.
Podcast - The latest edition of From the Crest of the Hill dropped on Tuesday. If you haven’t listened yet you’re in for a treat. You can find it HERE.
Adventure won the podcast password competition and will have a non-uniform day on Wednesday, 8th June.
Class photos on Tuesday 7th June - Can we have everyone looking extra smart on the first day back after half term? The school photographer will be here to take photos of each class.
My Great Hillcrest Spelling Saga - The children have been working extremely hard on their spellings this term. The level checks and bosses will be taking place during the first week of term - Bosses will be on Wednesday 8th June and Level Checks will be on Thursday 9th June. Please encourage your children to revise all their words over the half term and during the first week back so they're ready to move up to their next challenge.
Children’s University - The CU May Challenges and Newsletter are full of fun ideas to keep the children busy over half term, whether enrolled in the CU or not yet.
Autism Course - Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos (BNSSG) Parent Carer Forums have joined together to provide and host a range of online information sessions and face-to-face workshops for parents and carers, delivered by a SEND professional and an experienced SEND parent carer.
These sessions will provide tips on recognising needs, together with practical ways to help your child. Even if your child does not receive a diagnosis of autism following assessment, the strategies you learn in this course are likely to still prove helpful.
