Mailbag 5 February 2021

First of all, apologies - Mr McIntyre and I would like to formally apologies to all the families in the Waiting Room for today’s 12 o'clock assembly - we completely forgot! We promise we will not fail you next week (midday on Monday 8th February and Friday12th February).

I hope you have all had a good week. Next week, to round off the term, we are mixing things up with three themed days:

  • Mrs Loader has put together a range of online safety activities to link to 'Safer Internet Day'.
  • The Art department (Mrs Sharples and Mrs Bonner!) are launching their 'Start of Art’ project.
  • Thursday is an Eco-inspired day (along with Baked Beans and Buddy Benches) which we hope you will enjoy.
  • And, last but not least, Mr McIntyre has organised 'Once Upon a Time Day' activities linked to National Storytelling Week.

Whether you choose to take part in one or all of the tasks, there will be lots of fun and learning to be had!

Home Learning Survey - The school’s governors would appreciate your feedback on our home learning provision. Understanding parents' experience and views will help the board to lead and support the school through this difficult period.

The on-line form only takes a few minutes to complete. The survey is open until the end of the half term break - Sunday 21st February. Responses are confidential and anonymous. Please contact the school directly if you have an urgent question, issue, safeguarding concern or complaint.

Thank you for your help.

You can also find a link to the survey on the Home page of the school website

Mrs Hendy’s Great Idea - Lockdown or not, children don’t stop growing out of their clothes! Shops aren’t open and many families are struggling financially

If you have any outgrown children’s clothes or shoes you’d like to donate, drop them into school in a tied bag next week.

Mrs Hendy will give the bags 72 hours quarantine then sort the clothes into sizes. After half term, we’ll arrange a Covid-safe way for people to come and pick things up - probably by appointment, one family at a time. Keep an eye on the Mailbag after half term for more details.

Friends of Hillcrest are pleased to announce the following half term activities:
