COVID-19 Guidance

POSSIBLE COVID SYMPTOMS?

Have a look at the Parents' COVID Flow Chart above.

Whether it is your child or someone else in your household that is showing symptoms, please visit the NHS site HERE for advice and to arrange a test, and the government website HERE for further guidance.

Do not send your child into school if they, or anyone else in your household, have possible COVID symptoms.

Arrange a test for the person showing symptoms and inform the school office.

School Holidays
If your child has been told to isolate by Track & Trace, has  had COVID symptoms themselves or has had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID over the school holiday, please read the letter below.

COVID Guidance for schools

Schools must ensure they understand the NHS Test and Trace process.

Schools must ensure that staff members and parents/carers understand that they will need to be ready and willing to:

  • Book a test if they or their child are displaying symptoms. The main symptoms are a high temperature, a new continuous cough and/or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste. Staff and pupils must not come into the school if they have symptoms and must be sent home to self-isolate if they develop them in school. All children can be tested if they have symptoms, including children under 5, but children aged 11 and under will need to be helped by their parents or carers if using a home testing kit.

  • Provide details of anyone they or their child have been in close contact with if they were to test positive for COVID-19 or if asked by NHS Test and Trace.

  • Self-isolate if they have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, or if anyone in their household develops symptoms of  (COVID-19).

The guidelines in the Schools Covid flowchart above are reviewed by Bristol City Council each week and we respond accordingly.

If we have a confirmed case in a child or staff member BCC will tell us whether to send home the whole bubble or just close contacts.

With the permission of the family concerned, we will inform you if someone in your child's bubble tests positive for Covid-19.
