Hi and welcome to the start of Term 5. I hope you all had a lovely Easter. We certainly had great weather, long may it continue.

We look forward to seeing you all this term, albeit virtually, at our on-line Parents' Evenings. Please see the dates and booking instructions below.

I alluded to our 'Recovery Conversations/Curriculum' last term and wanted the opportunity to tell you about the school’s priorities this Summer regarding your children. I will be holding a Zoom meeting on the evening of 12th May to discuss this with you in more detail and give you a chance to ask any questions you may have. We will send the Zoom invitation nearer the time. This will be the first of termly parent information meetings. I hope we may be able to have them in person soon.

Parents Evenings for all year groups will be on Tuesday 4th May and Thursday 6th May - Click here for instructions on how to book and attend an on line meeting with your child’s teacher. If you don’t need the instructions, go straight to https://hillcrest.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to log in and book an appointment. Booking will be open from 6pm today.

Chartwell’s Spring/Summer Lunch Menu is available to download here and applies from today.

Reception Forest School helpers needed - We plan to run Forest School for the Reception children in Discovery house on Monday 26th April, Monday 10th and Monday 17th May. We will need some  parent helpers for it to go ahead. Please email your child’s teacher if you would like to help.

Term 5 information - Newsletters Timetables and, in some cases, Term 5 Overviews will be on the Year Group pages on the website by the end of the week.

2021 Virtual Spring School Games Design Challenge

This fun challenge gives children the chance to reflect on what they like, the personal skills needed when taking part in sport and physical activity and how they have adapted over the past 12 months to keep themselves and their family active.

We’ll be going head to head with other schools across B&NES, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset to create a 7th Spirit of The Games Value and design a logo for it. Find out how to enter the competition here and watch a video from two Young Leaders at Ashton Park School explaining the challenge and the existing 6 values here: https://youtu.be/gHoNUk9E5tQ

Download the printable entry sheet here.  Hand entries into school by Monday 10th May. We will choose one winning design from Hillcrest to go forward to the inter-school competition.
