I hope you are staying safe and have been able to make the most of the sunshine.
As none of us are sure when and how schools will re-open we will continue with our home learning on the website and through Seesaw, as we did in Term 4. If your child needs stationery or exercise books please don’t hesitate to email the office and you can come and collect it at the main gate. firstname.lastname@example.org
I’ve really enjoyed seeing all your Hillcrest’s Got Talent videos! What an amazing lot you are! The competition is now closed and the House Captains and Vice Captains (not the School Council as we said in Tuesday’s Mailbag - sorry) will be judging the entries over the weekend. The winners will be announced in Tuesday’s Mailbag. I can’t wait!
This week every class took part in their first Zoom catch up session with their teacher. On the back of theirs, Yr 6 are planning a Zoom quiz, with categories suggested by the children. I’m sure many other ideas will follow.
Please can we ask that you do not share passwords for Seesaw, Tapestry or Zoom sessions on WhatsApp group messages? If you or another parent needs these please email your child’s class teacher.
Several parents have commented that their child’s handwriting has taken a turn for the worse during lockdown - “a spider hiccupping across the page” was a gem from one of you this week! Please be reassured that all the children will return to school at different stages in their learning and we will be working hard to help them catch up and succeed.
Hillcrest Social page - Keep sending in your photos, links, suggestions and videos and do let Juliet know if your child has a birthday coming up so we can celebrate them on their special day. Children - we’d love to hear from you, not just the grownups. Maybe tell us a joke, set us a puzzle, show us something you’ve made or send us a photo of your pet to keep us all cheerful! email@example.com
Look out for your next Mailbag on Tuesday.
