Yr 6 Spellings - The wrong spellings were posted on Friday. It’s correct on the website now, here.

Additional Needs Questionnaire - Last term we sent out a questionnaire to those parents/carers whose children receive SEND support at school. Unfortunately, we only received two responses. This highlighted for us that we need to ask for feedback in a different way.

We are really committed to continuous improvement in the way we support children with additional and special educational needs. We can only do this if we have a full picture of how our families feel about what we offer.

We’ve realised that it’s important to seek views from ALL families - not only those whose children currently receive SEND support - and so we’ve prepared a short questionnaire to capture as much feedback as possible. This can be completed anonymously, if you wish.

We value your opinions and, whilst we gather feedback from parent meetings, talking to children, staff and external professionals, a questionnaire provides additional insight that may otherwise go unnoticed, and is a way for us to identify and evaluate any improvements we need to make.

Please complete the on line questionnaire HERE or via the link on the home page of the school website. Thank you in advance.

(If you prefer to fill in a paper questionnaire you can pick one up at Parents’ Evening or at our next Open Doors morning on Wednesday 12 February.)

Coronavirus guidance from the Department of Education - You should not be unduly worried about the possibility of your children catching the Coronavirus. There is no reason why children should not continue to attend their early years, school or further education setting as normal.

If you are planning to travel to China please refer to the FCO’s latest travel advice here.

A UK wide campaign has been launched to provide clear advice on how to slow the spread of Coronavirus. The campaign promotes basic hygiene practices, such as regularly washing hands and always sneezing or coughing into a tissue, to stem the spread of viruses.

Yr 2 SS Great Britain trip - Tomorrow is the deadline for ordering a school packed lunch for this trip. Let the office know by phone, email or in person. If we don’t hear from you by the end of the school day on Wednesday, you will need to provide a packed lunch from home on the day of the trip. There are still outstanding payments for the visit too. Please pay on Gateway as soon as possible. Thank you.

Reception & Yr 5 - The Explorer Dome is coming to school this Friday. If you haven’t already paid the £3 on Gateway for this visit please can you do so as soon as possible?

Payment for trips - As you know, school budgets across the country are very tight. Although payment for trips is voluntary, and we don’t wish to pressure parents experiencing genuine difficulties, please remember that the school has to cover the cost of trips when parents don’t pay. This takes money that should be used to benefit ALL the children. We try to keep the cost of trips as low as we can. If you can afford to pay, please do.

If paying for a trip is going to be difficult, please talk to your child’s class teacher or Ms Norman as soon as possible when the trip is announced - we will do what we can to help. If you think your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium, which will give you a 50% reduction on the cost of all trips, we can help you to make an application.

Look out for your next Mailbag on Friday.
