Well done everyone! Friends of Hillcrest

Virtual Summer School Games - Look on our Lockdown Social page for this week’s challenge! They hope to get as many young people across the West of England taking part in the Personal Best Challenges as possible. Read all about the games and sign your child up here. For every Hillcrest child that takes part, we’ll get a point towards the Most Active School award.

Prepare to set sail on a musical voyage! A three-week series of workshops from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra - Young Explorers: Sea, Voyages & Hope - from Monday 8 June - Friday 26 June. Watch a short video about the project here and tune in to all episodes here.

These workshops introduce children to making music as they learn to make their own works, take part in warm-up exercises, and rehearse two newly-commissioned nautical songs to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s pioneering voyage. The project culminates in a virtual group performance.

The workshops are designed to support the Key Stage 2 curriculum, but can be enjoyed by all ages and are free for all. The first one is available now, here.

Don’t forget to visit the Lockdown Social page on the website - there’s always something new to see - and email Juliet at jfleming@hillcrest.bristol.sch.uk if there’s something you’d like us to celebrate on there. You’ll find the Summer Exhibition galleries under the Lockdown Social tab too - they’re looking wonderful. Keep those artworks coming!
