Welcome to Year 2

Meet the Team...

Mrs Willis has just returned to school after maternity leave.  Outside school she enjoys spending time with her little girl, her husband and friends.  She works Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Miss Parry teaches 2JP.

Mrs Sewell
is partner teacher to Mrs Willis, working Mondays and Tuesdays.  She is also the school's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

Mrs Greenslade is a part time Teaching Partner. She enjoys engaging the children in role play activities and developing children’s confidence in speaking and listening.

Mrs Cooke, Teaching Partner, has been at Hillcrest since 1996, working with all age groups. She likes playing skittles and watching rugby and is very pleased to be again working as a Teaching Partner in the Year 1 team.

Miss Slotwinska, Teaching Partner, has been working at Hillcrest for 8 years.  She loves her job! She particularly enjoys seeing the children's smiling faces when they have achieved a success in their learning. Alongside working in Yr 2, she supports the Polish speaking children and parents in the Hillcrest community. At home, she enjoys reading, relaxing and visiting her family in Poland.

Important information

On Wednesdays, we will not be in class for half of the day while we work together to plan and assess the children's learning. During this time, the children will benefit from a bespoke art curriculum with Mrs Bonner and Ms Sharples and high quality sports coaching from a member of the Professional Sports and Fitness Ltd team (It is important your child has full PE kit in school on this day including a tracksuit in the colder weather). The children's other PE session will be on Fridays.

On Tuesdays, they will have library sessions with our Reading Champion and Higher Level Teaching Partner, Mrs Price, to promote reading, literacy and use of the library.  She will also be supporting selected groups of children to enhance their reading further.

Communication

If you have any questions at any point, please don't hesitate to speak to us. If it's just a quick question, catch us in the playground at the start or end of the day; otherwise, we can arrange a meeting to take place in the classroom after school. If you are not able to make drop off or pick up, feel free to pass us a note via your child or phone school and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year, full of achievement and adventures!
