Yr 1 Weston-Super-Mare trip letter 14th June 2021

11th June 2021

Dear Yr 1 Parents and Carers

On Wednesday 14th July 2021, we are planning to take the children on a trip to Weston-Super-Mare, for a day on the beach. This is to link with our enquiry “How could we play in different ways?” and it will enable us to test out games that the children have made. We will be leaving school at 9.20am, returning for pick-up at the normal time.

The children will need a packed lunch and a water bottle. Please tell the School Office whether your child would like the free school packed lunch (a choice of egg, cheese, ham or tuna) to which they are entitled to by Monday 5th July 2021. Otherwise, we will assume that you will be providing a packed lunch (no cans or glass bottles and no fizzy drinks please).

Please ensure your child has a sunhat and is wearing sunscreen. Please note that we are not allowed to put sunscreen on your child, but if your child is able to do this by themselves, please send some with your child in their bag. If your child needs to take a travel sickness tablet, this must be clearly labelled and attached with a Medical Healthcare Form which is available on the School website or from the School Office.

We are asking for a contribution of £7.50 per child for this visit which will cover the cost of the travel. Please note that this request is for a voluntary contribution and in no way represents a mandatory charge. No pupil registered at the school will be treated differently, whether or not their parents have made any contribution in response to the request. Payment and consent can be made online via the School Gateway system (there is a link on the school website – Y1 Weston Beach Trip) by Friday 9th July 2021.

We will need some adult helpers on the day, so please contact your child’s teacher if you are able to help.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Flook, Mr McIntyre and Mrs Howells
