Yr 4 Term 6 2021

Summer Term 6 Newsletter, June 2021

Welcome back. We hope you had a lovely Half Term break and were able to enjoy some of the sunshine and freedom due to some restrictions being lifted.

We are Authors:

We will continue reading ‘The Animals of Farthing Wood’ and using this to help us develop our inference and prediction skills. This, in turn will link to our Enquiry. We will be exploring stories from other cultures and will be writing our own creative stories.

We are Mathematicians:

This term we will focussing on decimals and co-ordinates. We will look at how to convert between fractions and decimals, round fractions and how to multiply and divide by 10 and 100.

We are Scientists:

In in Enquiry this term, we will be exploring the human digestive system and different types of teeth. We will also be exploring the functions of teeth in both humans and animals.

Knowledge Organisers:

Knowledge organisers are a great way to share lots of information to help us remember important information simply. We will be using these in our enquiry lessons as a way to explore what we are learning about, and help store the information in our long-term memory.  It will be available on the class Seesaw page so you know what we are covering in class.

Please make sure you have your PE kits in school all week - our PE lesson is on a Tuesday. As most PE lessons are outside it would be a good idea to have some shorts as the weather becomes warmer.  Please ensure that if your child’s hair is longer than shoulder length, they have a hair band with which they can use to tie their hair back.
