Yr 5 Term 6 2019
We have been upcycling old clothes. Look at this denim shoulder bag made from an old pair of jeans and a belt.
Here's another lovely little bag made from the pockets from a pair of jeans and some up-cycled lace.
And how about this for a striking, one-off jacket? The back is upcycled from an old t-shirt, the sleeves are the legs from a pair of black jeans and the front panels are recycled hessian.
Full marks for Innovation!
We had a brilliant trip to Farleigh Hungerford Castle.
We visited the chapel and the castle ruins and learned about what life would have been like for the inhabitants. Dressing up in medieval clothes and standing right where they lived and worked, within the walls of the kitchen and the great hall, really brought history to life for us. Look out for the photos of our very own jester! We tried on chain mail and armour and held a real sword. Some of us were knighted!
We think Miss North looks awesome in chain mail... she should definitely wear it all the time!
Some of us dressed up in period costume and acted out the story of Macbeth in the castle grounds, whilst others chose to do some sketching.
