FAQs

  • My child loves the club they're in at the moment. Can I apply for the same one again? Yes.

  • What if there are more applicants than places for a club?  Children who haven't been in the club this term will have first priority *. The remaining places will be filled from applicants doing the club at the moment, by drawing names out of a hat.  * Except for guitar tuition, where improvers will get priority.

  • I have more than one child. The form allows you to apply for up to three children. If one of your children gets a place and you've applied for a sibling to go to a club on the same day of the week, they will get a place.

  • My child is eligible for Pupil Premium.  They are entitled to one free club for the Season. You still need to apply using the online form.

  • My child is eligible for Pupil Premium Plus.  They are entitled to two free clubs for the Season. You still need to apply using the online form.

  • How long is the Spring Season? The Season runs for Terms 3 and 4, from January to Easter. That's a possible 12 weeks, but the start date, number of sessions and payment arrangements may vary from club to club.

  • Do I have to apply again at half term? No, this application is for the whole Spring Season, Terms 3 and 4 (but many of the providers are happy to take the payment in two instalments).

  • What if I haven't heard from you about a club application by 15th December? Your child hasn't been allocated a place in that club for the Spring Season.

  • Will there be waiting lists? No, but if your child doesn't get a place for the Spring Season, and you apply for the same club again at Easter, they will have priority for the Summer  Season.

Enrichment v Wrap-around childcare

Our enrichment programme and wrap-around childcare provision serve different purposes:

  • The enrichment programme aims to give as many children as possible the opportunity to try out a range of activities - broadening their experiences, sparking new interests and supporting their personal development.

  • Wrap-around provision (Future Stars and Totterdown Children's Community Workshop) is there to help you manage busy schedules by providing a safe, welcoming space for children at the end of the school day. While there are plenty of games and activities to keep children engaged, the main aim is to offer flexible, reliable childcare to support parents' work and family commitments.
