Applying to Secondary School
How do I apply for a secondary school place?
It's easiest to apply on line.
- The system helps you by checking for errors.
- There is no risk that your application will be lost in the post.
- It is quick and easy to do.
- You will get an immediate email confirming that your application has been received.
- You will receive email notification of the outcome of your application on the same day as the offer letters are posted.
- The system is available 24 hours a day until the final submission time of midnight on 31st October 2024.
Secondary School Open Days
Applications are now open for parents of Year Six pupils to choose a secondary school for your child. You have until midnight on 31st October to make that decision.
Over the coming weeks secondary schools are opening up their buildings for prospective pupils and their parents to look around the schools. While independent schools will have a separate process, the majority of families, who will be applying for a state-funded school, can apply via the Bristol City Council website.
Open evening: Thursday September 19, 5.30-8pm with a talk from the headteacher at 5.45pm and 6.45pm
Open mornings: 9.30-11.30am on Tuesday September 24, Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26.
Open evening: Thursday, September 26, 6pm-8.30pm.
Open morning: Saturday, October 5, 10am-12pm.
Open evening: Thursday, September 26, 5.30pm-8pm.
Open mornings: Wednesday, October 2, Thursday, October 3 and Friday October 4.
Open evening: Tuesday, September 17, 5-7pm.
Open evening: Thursday, September 26, 4.30pm-7.30pm. Doors open at 4.15pm, last entry 7.15pm.

Bristol Cathedral Choir School
Open events are fully booked but you can contact the school to reserve a place on the waiting list.
Open evening: Wednesday, September 25, 4.30pm-7.30pm.
A number of morning tours are also being held which can be booked by calling or emailing the school.
There is currently no information on the school website regarding this year’s open events.

Thursday September 19, 4-7pm. The Principal, Mr Ben Tucker, will be giving a talk in the school theatre at 4.30pm and again at 6pm.
