Open position: Global Majority and North Bristol Peer Support Co-Ordinator
Do you want to help parent carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) access the right support?
Bristol Parent Carers is a local charity that works alongside parent carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND across Bristol. We provide information, peer support and opportunities for families to share their experiences and shape local services.
We are looking for a warm, organised and approachable person who is fluent in Somali, Arabic or Urdu to help build relationships with families and lead peer support sessions across North Bristol and within Global Majority communities.
In this role you will:
• Deliver peer support sessions in schools and community settings
• Provide information and signposting to families
• Build positive relationships with parent carers, schools and community organisations
• Help more families access support and feel connected to their local community
• Support online information sessions and community events
We're particularly interested in hearing from applicants who:
• Have lived experience of raising or caring for a child with SEND
• Are fluent (reading, writing and oral) in Somali, Arabic or Urdu
• Are confident leading small group discussions
• Have strong communication and organisational skills
• Have access to their own vehicle and can travel independently to venues across Bristol

Key Information
Salary: £14 per hour
Hours: 12 hours per week, term time only
Contract: Temporary, 1 year
Start date: 7th September 2026
