Yr 3's Gallery
How about this for engineering? This crane actually works!
Redcatch Community Garden - We had a look around the gardens, talked about new additions, e.g. the scarecrow, new plants, the new polytunnel (as the old one got damaged in the storm last year). We looked at the different plants growing at the moment, e.g kale, as well as exploring the edible wall. We saw pollination in action! Our task was to design our own scarecrow and give it a name.
The abominable snowman! Mr Redshaw getting into Arctic gear with our visiting author, wildlife film maker Justin Anderson.
Inspired by Aardman... A brilliant show and tell where he made Feathers McGraw! To make the eyes he used beads from his mum's hijab (he did ask first!)
3EN had a very special visitor! Our class role model, Peter Lord from Aardman came to see us! What a lovely man! He brought some plasticine and modelled Morph whilst he was talking to us and answering our questions! He was the first person to sign our new role model board, too.
Two musicians from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra came to Hillcrest to do a workshop with both Yr 3 classes. This involved some rhythm games, some singing, and helping them to write a song which will be performed at Bristol Beacon.
