World Book Day
Just some of the weird and wonderful places
you've been reading!
A humongous thank you to all of you who got involved in this year's World Book Day - you all played your part in making it a fun-filled and word-filled day.
Close to half a million words were read by Hillcrest children yesterday, which is just phenomenal!
Lots of you also wrote amazing stories about Barney and Wilma.
We are going to make a collage of all the weird and wonderful places you read yesterday, we were so impressed with your innovation!
A special 'thank you' to the more than 200 children and staff who dropped into one or more of the 30 children's storytimes, your thoughts and presence made for a wonderful atmosphere.
An extra special 'thank you' to our 30 readers. I was in awe as I watched each and every one of you step up to the challenge and read your books with poise, passion and a huge smile on your faces. The variety of books was fantastic and kept me hooked all day. All of us here at Hillcrest are enormously proud of you - thank you for making the 24th World Book Day extra special.
We have been inundated with emails for our various World Book Day competitions so the winners won't be announced until next week. If you have any entries still to email in, please send them to school@hillcrest.bristol.sch.uk.
Thank you again and please don't stop reading.
